PCLC Looks to Sweep Season Series Against Las Vegas

The Panther City Lacrosse Club (7-5) will face the Las Vegas Desert Dogs (4-7) for the third and final time this season on Saturday, March 18 at 7 p.m. at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Panther City took the first two contests against the Desert Dogs during the first two weeks of the 2022-23 season. On the call will be Ron Thulin (PxP), Dalton Jernigan (Analyst) and Maggie Hale (Floor Reporter), with the game being broadcast locally on Bally Sports Southwest Extra and streamed everywhere on ESPN+.

In Panther City’s seven wins this season the team has averaged nearly 14 goals, while only allowing less than nine goals. Goalie Nick Damude has been at the forefront of the team’s victories and is 2-0 against Las Vegas this season, averaging seven goals allowed in two games against the Desert Dogs. Damude has allowed 10 or fewer goals in six of Panther City’s seven wins in 2022-23.

Offensively, Panther City has two members approaching milestones this week as rookie forward Jonathan Donville looks to become just the 10th rookie in NLL history to record 50+ assists in his rookie season. The last player to accomplish this feat was Panther City’s own Patrick Dodds who finished his rookie campaign with 58 assists. 17-year veteran Callum Crawford is one goal shy of reaching 450 career goals, which would make him the 11th player in NLL history to reach 450 career goals.

Panther City’s transition duo of Tony Malcom and Josh Medeiros have played a crucial role for the team recently, as Malcom has scored in two straight games, while Medeiros has scored in four straight games and over those four games has recorded seven goals. In Tony Malcom’s last outing against Las Vegas on 12/17, he notched two goals.

For Las Vegas, they are led by 2021 Panther City NLL Entry Draft selection Jack Hannah who is tied for the team lead with 20 goals. On the defensive end, Tor Reinholdt leads the team with 78 loose balls, while also causing 10 turnovers.
