Panther City Lacrosse Club Acquires 2022 First-Round Pick in Trade with Albany FireWolves

FORT WORTH, TX (January 3, 2021) – The Panther City Lacrosse Club has traded forward Ryan Benesch to the Albany FireWolves in exchange for a first-round pick (21st overall) in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft, a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NLL Entry Draft and forward Johnny Pearson.

“We want to thank Ryan for his contributions on and off the floor, as he had a hand in shaping this team in his short time with our club,” Panther City Lacrosse Club Head Coach Tracey Kelusky said. “Ryan is a consummate pro and teammate and is beloved by fans, coaches and staff, but we feel that this is the best move for both parties moving forward and we wish him nothing but success in his future.”

Panther City now has multiple picks in the first two rounds of the 2022 NLL Entry Draft.

Pearson, a four-year NLL veteran, was originally drafted by the Saskatchewan Rush in the 2017 NLL Entry Draft. He then spent the next two seasons with the San Diego Seals and appeared in 13 games and logged six points. The Langley, British Columbia native attended Ohio State University and totaled 58 points (48 goals/10 assists) in 44 career games for the Buckeyes.
