Panther City Lacrosse Club Defeats the Calgary Roughnecks, 14 – 11

Calgary, Alberta – The Panther City Lacrosse Club (5-8) defeated the Calgary Roughnecks (4-7), 14 – 11, at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary Saturday night.

Goaltender Nick Damude stopped 40 of the Roughnecks 51 shots (.784 save percentage) and held Calgary scoreless in the third quarter, allowing Panther City to pad the team’s lead by three, the eventual difference in the contest. The attack was led by forward Will Malcom, who recorded his third hat trick of the season and tacked on four assists to finish with seven points on the evening. Rookie of the Year candidate Patrick Dodds dished out a career high seven assists and tacked on a goal of his own to lead the team with eight points.

Two other forwards recorded a hat trick for Panther City as well, as rookie Nathan Grenon recorded his first career hat trick and forward Dean Fairall continued to stay hot with his second straight game with three or more goals. Fairall has been especially deadly with a man advantage, as since joining the club he has tallied five power play goals and the team has scored on 17 of 23 power play opportunities (74 %).

Panther City next returns home to battle the Colorado Mammoth (7-4) on Saturday, March 26. Faceoff is set for 8:30 p.m. CT at Dickies Arena.
