Panther City Lacrosse Club Sign Defensive Coordinator Steve Toll to a Multi-Year Extension

FORT WORTH, TX – The Panther City Lacrosse Club has signed Defensive Coordinator Steve Toll to a multi-year extension, the team announced today.

“We are thrilled to have Steve Toll returning to our bench,” Panther City Lacrosse Club Head Coach Tracey Kelusky said. “Our back end has completely bought into his system and trusts that he is going to put our team in the best position to win. He is a tremendous teacher and his experience playing the game is invaluable to our group of men. We believe Toller is the perfect person to continue to evolve our defense into one of the strongest units in the NLL for years to come.”

With Panther City, Toll helped put together a defensive squad that featured Liam Byrnes, who was fifth in the NLL with 137 claimed loose balls, and rookie Josh Medeiros, who was second among rookies with 18 blocked shots. Over the course of the season, Panther City’s defense improved steadily, holding opposing offenses to 11 goals per game over the last six games of the regular season. The St. Catharines, Ontario, native won the NLL championship five times during his 14-year playing career and was named the first-ever NLL Transition Player of the Year in 2007. Toll was inducted into his hometown’s Hall of Fame in 2018 and was inducted as a member of the 2021 National Lacrosse League Hall of Fame last August.
