Panther City Lacrosse Club Signs Matt Hossack

FORT WORTH, TX – The Panther City Lacrosse Club has signed right-handed defender, Matt Hossack, to a one-year contract, the team announced today.

“As we are finalizing our inaugural roster heading into our training camp, it was critically important for us to make sure Matt was to be a part of what we are building at Panther City,” General Manager Bob Hamley said. “We will pride ourselves on the back end of our team providing a stifling defense, generating offense and playing a fast, physical style of play and we expect Matt to be a big part of that as this team progresses in our first year.”

Hossack, was originally acquired from the Saskatchewan Rush with Panther City’s first-overall selection in the 2021 NLL Expansion Draft on June 30th. Hossack was the 14th overall pick in the 2016 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft by the Saskatchewan Rush from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He finished the 2019 season tied for fifth in scoring among defensemen (17 points) and fourth in assists (14), both career highs. He also set career highs in loose balls (93) and caused turnovers (18).
