Panther City Lacrosse Club Signs Randy Staats

FORT WORTH, TX – The Panther City Lacrosse Club has signed Randy Staats to a three-year contract, the team announced today.

“Acquiring Randy this off-season was a huge win for our team and moving forward we view him as a building block for the future of Panther City Lacrosse Club, so ensuring he would be here for the next several years was critically important to us and we couldn’t be happier that Randy will be wearing the purple and black for years to come,” Panther City General Manager Bob Hamley said. “Whenever Randy is ready to take the field, he will have an immediate impact on our club and his teammates, especially the leadership he will bring to the locker room. We also look forward to supporting his work in the community year-round, in addition to helping him grow the game of lacrosse in the great state of Texas.”

Staats, a Six Nations, Ontario, Canada native, has totaled 406 points (156 goals/250 assists) in 76 career games played. Continuously, a top-five scoring threat in the NLL, Staats was fifth in points scored in the 2019-20 season and second in the league with 48 assists. Staats has also been a clutch performer come playoff time as he has recorded 38 points (16 goals/22 assists) in seven playoff appearances, averaging over five points per playoff contest. As a rookie in 2016, Staats led the Swarm with 95 points (36 goals/59 assists) and was named the 2016 NLL Rookie of the Year.
