Panther City Lacrosse Flies To Philly To Face the Wings

The Panther City Lacrosse Club (2-3) will head to the Northeast to face an Eastern Division opponent again as they will face the Philadelphia Wings (2-1) at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, January 14 at 6:00 p.m. CT / 7:00 p.m. ET on Bally Sports Southwest and streamed on ESPN+. Brian Smith (PxP), Scott Gabrielsen (Analyst) and Devan Kaney (Floor Reporter) will be on the call from Philadelphia.

Panther City Lacrosse Club rookie forward Jonathan Donville is coming off his best game as a pro as he recorded six points, including his first career hat trick and also three assists at Rochester (1/7) last week. For his efforts, Donville was awarded with the NLL Rookie of the Week honors. This is the second time this season he has been named Rookie of the Week (Week 3 vs. COL). Donville currently leads all rookies in points (20), goals (4) and assists (16). He has also added six power play assists. His 16 assists currently ranks him tied for fifth most in the NLL and he is the only rookie amongst the top-10 players in assists.

Panther City will also see a new face out of the front door, as right-handed forward Jake Fox was acquired on 1/10/23 from the New York Riptide in exchange for defenseman Chad Cummings. Fox, at 6’3 and 225 pounds, brings a physical presence to the offense and also a scoring threat as he recorded 34 points (18G/16A) in 2021-22.

For Philadelphia, they will be led by recent free-agent acquisition Joe Resetarits (18 points – 7G/11A), Blaze Riorden, who leads the team with 10 goals and Ben McIntosh, who is coming off a five-goal performance in the Wings’ win over Las Vegas last weekend. Trevor Baptiste will patrol the middle of the floor for Philadelphia as he leads the team with 29 loose balls and is 42-70 (60%) from the face-off dot this season.
