Thank you from GM Bob Hamley

Dear Panther City members and fans,

On behalf of everyone in our organization, thank you for all the support during the 2022-2023 PCLC season.

While our season unfortunately ended a couple of weeks ago in Calgary, I am so proud of our young team for the way they fought and persevered through adversity all season. We left it all on the floor and make no mistake, this tight knit group plays for one another AND plays for you, our loyal fans.

While we hoped to end this season by hoisting the championship trophy at Dickies Arena, I hope you’ll agree that it was still an extremely successful year.

Our second season in Fort Worth was a year of firsts. Some of them include:

  • Clinched a spot in the NLL Playoffs
  • Finished with a regular season record over .500 (10-8)
  • Will Malcom became the first Panther City player to record more than 90 points and ended with an incredible 96 in just his second full season.
  • Goaltender Nick Damude finished third amongst starting goalies in Goals Against Average, the highest result for Nick in his young career and a first for a PCLC netminder.
  • Rookie Jon Donville set a new NLL record, winning Rookie of the Week accolades five times.

We made incredible memories together this year. Our season got out to a fast start with our home opener in front of a great home crowd and now in our second season, we are establishing some great traditions that we will carry forward. Youth Lacrosse Night brought out an incredible number of young players and Texas Forever Night proved to be an amazing celebration of this great game, Fort Worth and the State of Texas.

As proud as we are about the results on the floor this season, we are equally as proud of the work we were able to do in the Fort Worth community. We loved working alongside our nine Community Champions and seeing their efforts honored in our games. From holiday decoration making at the Boys and Girls Club to sorting food with the United Way, we will continue to find ways to have our players involved and engaged in the community.

As our organization turns our focus to the offseason, we remain passionate about growing the game in the DFW. For those with children who are interested in getting started with lacrosse, we are running our summer camp from July 17th-19th. The camp is designed for beginner – moderate skill levels, so no expertise is necessary.

Similarly, if you are running lacrosse programming in the region this summer, we would love to know how we can help you grow. We will have players in market throughout the offseason and we would like to meet as many young lacrosse players as possible. If you think your event would benefit from PCLC presence, please fill out the form here.

Again, thank you for all the support this season. We couldn’t have done it without our great fans and we look forward to continuing the work towards our goal of making Dickies Arena the best atmosphere in the NLL. We know you’re our biggest champions. Let’s keep spreading the word and growing our game together!

Make no mistake, we are not satisfied with our success this season and we will continue to do everything we can to bring a championship to Panther City. That work begins now.

Regards,

Bob Hamley
