Panther City Acquires Forward Callum Crawford From New York Riptide

Fort Worth, TX (January 18, 2023) – The Panther City Lacrosse Club has acquired NLL All-Pro First Team member right-handed forward Callum Crawford from the New York Riptide, the team announced today. In exchange, the club sends goalie Kevin Orleman, forward Colton Lidstone, defenseman Petey LaSalla, Panther City’s 2nd round selection in the 2024 NLL Entry Draft, Panther City’s 2nd round selection in the 2025 NLL Entry Draft and Panther City’s 4th round selection in the 2023 NLL Entry Draft (via Albany) to the Riptide.

“We are thrilled to add one of the most prolific players in NLL history to the Panther City Lacrosse Club,” General Manager Bob Hamley said. “Callum brings veteran leadership to our young offensive core and with his athleticism, he adds another threat to our right side, as he has shown his game is still at an elite level and he possess all of the skill sets to remain a top scoring threat in this league.”

Crawford, a decorated 17-year veteran, had one of his best years in 2021-22. In his first year with the Riptide, he recorded 88 points (39G/49A) in 15 games. On February 26, 2022, Crawford became just the 10th player in NLL history to record 1100 points and followed that up on March 26, 2022, becoming the eighth player in NLL history to dish out 700 career assists. His 711 career assists currently ranks him 7th all-time, just behind Panther City’s US Scout, John Grant Jr. (778 assists).

The Ottawa, Ontario native, led the league with 76 points (33G/43A) in 2019-2020 with the then New England Black Wolves and earned NLL All-Pro First Team honors and was named an MVP finalist. While with the Black Wolves, Crawford recorded a career-high 48 goals during the 2018-19 season in addition to 61 assists for a season total of 109 points, which was his second time eclipsing the century-point mark in his career. Crawford’s best year in the NLL came in 2015-16 with the Colorado Mammoth where he notched 115 points (32G/83A) in 18 games, earning a NLL All-Pro Second Team nod. For his career, Crawford has been named to the NLL All-Pro First or Second Team a total of four times (2019-20, 2018-19, 2015-16 & 2012-13).

Crawford has appeared in 234 games in his NLL career and recorded 1,146 points (435 goals / 711 assists), placing him 10th all time. He was originally drafted with the 18th overall selection in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft by the Calgary Roughnecks. Crawford currently resides in Tulsa, Okla. with his wife, Laura and their two children, Dawson and Nash.
