Panther City Heads West To Square Off Against San Diego Seals

FORT WORTH, TX (April 3, 2024) – The Panther City Lacrosse Club (7-7) will head West to face the San Diego Seals (11-4) on Friday, April 5 at 9:00 p.m. CT / 7:00 p.m. PT in the two club’s second matchup of the season. The first contest between the two teams was a back-and-forth thriller that ended with the Seals securing an overtime victory. It will be the first of two games this weekend for Panther City as they will also play Sunday, April 7 against the Philadelphia Wings at home. 

Panther City is coming off their final bye weekend of the 2023-24 season and is in the middle of a playoff hunt for the second consecutive season. With four games remaining, the team is in 7th place and has two home and two road games left on the schedule. 

One-goal games and overtime games have been a consistent theme this season for Panther City as they have played in five overtime games (3-2 record) and seven one goal games (4-3 record). Second-year forward Jonathan Donville leads the team with three game-winning goals, including notching the game winner against the defending NLL Champion Buffalo Bandits two weeks ago and against Colorado (2/9). Donville has set a new season/career high this season with 25 goals scored. 

Will Malcom continues to pace Panther City offensively, as he has recorded 83 points (31G/52A) through 14 games this season, while also collecting 80 loose balls and causing seven turnovers. Callum Crawford leads the team with 32 goals and has also dished out 39 assists for 71 points through 12 games. He leads the team with 23 power play points (10G/13A). 

San Diego is led by their powerful offense, which features Wesley Berg (90 points – 34G/56A) and Austin Staats (87 points – 43G/44A). In net, Chris Origlieri has been one of the better netminders in the NLL this season as his 9.55 GAA is the second-best mark in the league.
