Panther City Lacrosse Club Announces Defensive Coach

The Panther City Lacrosse Club has named Steve Toll Defensive Coach, the team announced today.

“We are very excited to complete our bench staff today with the addition of defensive coach Steve Toll,” said General Manager Bob Hamley. “Steve’s passion and enthusiasm for our game is unmatched. A winner at every level as a player and as a coach, we look forward to Steve bringing his passion and experience to Panther City. Welcome to Panther City Steve!”

Named the first-ever National Lacrosse League Transition Player of the Year in 2007, Toll won the NLL championship five times during his illustrious 14 year playing career, four times with the Toronto Rock and once with the Rochester Knighthawks. In addition to his time in Toronto and Rochester, Toll played for Edmonton, Colorado, San Jose, and Ontario.

“I am extremely excited about this opportunity,” Toll said. “I want to thank Bob and Tracey for giving me the opportunity to join the Panther City Lacrosse Club staff. I am looking forward to helping build our franchise in Fort Worth.”

After retiring from the NLL in 2011, Toll served as the Director of Operations for teams in the Canadian Lacrosse League. In addition to his NLL success, Toll was inducted into the City of St. Catharines Hall of Fame in 2018 and is a two-time member of the Team Canada World Indoor Lacrosse Gold Medal Team.
