Panther City Lacrosse Club & Callum Crawford Agree To Franchise Tag

FORT WORTH, TX (July 27, 2023) – The Panther City Lacrosse Club announced today that Callum Crawford has accepted the franchise tag for the 2023-24 NLL season. Crawford was originally acquired via trade with the New York Riptide on January 18, 2023.

“We are thrilled that Callum will be suiting up for us once again next year,” Panther City Lacrosse Club General Manager Bob Hamley said. “Callum’s historic statistics speak for themselves, but we are really looking forward to having his continued leadership as he helps guide our team in our quest to bring a championship home to Texas. Callum is a proven player in this league that has demonstrated he is willing to do whatever it takes to win and help those around him become better players. His impact off the floor cannot be overstated as well, as he is committed to growing our game the right way by exposing kids to our great game.”

Crawford will be entering his 18th season in the NLL and his second with Panther City. He is currently 7th all time in NLL history with 739 assists and 8th all time with 1,139 points. For his career, he has recorded 454 goals and is just the 11th player in NLL history to eclipse the 450 goal mark. Crawford has been named to the NLL All-Pro First or Second Team a total of four times (2019-20, 2018-19, 2015-16 & 2012-13) in his decorated career.

In 2022-23, Crawford recorded 56 points (25G/31A), ranking him third on the team in points and assists and second in goals scored. In his debut for Panther City against Vancouver, Crawford tallied seven points (2G/5A) and went on to finish the season recording 5+ points in six of the 10 games he appeared in for Panther City.

Crawford was originally drafted with the 18th overall selection in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft by the Calgary Roughnecks.
