PANTHER CITY LACROSSE CLUB SET SO SLUG IT OUT WITH SAN DIEGO SEALS

The Panther City Lacrosse Club (8-5), winners of four of their last five games, enter a crucial matchup with the Western Conference leading San Diego Seals (9-2) on Friday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Dickies Arena. On the call will be Ron Thulin (PxP), Dalton Jernigan (Analyst) and Maggie Hale (Floor Reporter), with the game being broadcast on Bally Sports Southwest Extra and ESPN+.

Second-year transition player Josh Medeiros continues to provide a spark for Panther City as he has now recorded 16 goals on the season, double his production from last season, and has scored in eight of the teams last nine games, including his second hat trick of the year against Las Vegas last Saturday. Medeiros is also fourth on the team with 70 loose balls.

Last week saw Panther City have 12 different players record at least a point, with seven players scoring goals. Goalie Nick Damude registered an assist for the second straight game as well. On the season, Panther City has eight players who have recorded at least 20 points.  They have four players with 40+ points (Malcom- 81, Donville – 72, Dodds – 43 and Crawford – 41).

Continuing his campaign for Rookie of the Year, Jonathan Donville recorded five points (1G/4A) last weekend against Las Vegas. With his first assist, Donville became the 10th rookie in NLL history to record 50 assists in a player’s first year. The last player to accomplish this was Panther City’s own Patrick Dodds in 2021-22. Donville is currently fifth in the NLL with 53 assists and the only rookie amongst the top-20 scorers in the NLL.

For San Diego, they are led by Curtis Dickson (66 points – 31G/35A), Wesley Berg (65 points – 22G/43A) and Dane Dobbie (61 points – 32G/29A) out the front door and Eli Gobrecht leads the team out of the back door with 16 caused turnovers and has also recorded 69 loose balls. San Diego has back-to-back games this weekend and has split time this year between their goalies, veteran Frank Scigliano and second-year goalie Christopher Origlieri.
