Panther City Lacrosse Club Squares Off Against Colorado Mammoth

FORT WORTH, TX (Dec. 17, 2022) – The Panther City Lacrosse Club (2-0) enters the final game of a back-to-back on the weekend against the defending NLL champions, the Colorado Mammoth (0-1). Panther City is coming off two straight victories over the Las Vegas Desert Dogs. The club went 2-1 against Colorado last season, including scoring an NLL season-high 20 goals against the Mammoth on 3/11/22. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. CT and be broadcasted on ESPN+ with Ron Thulin (PXP), Dalton Jernigan (Analyst) and Maggie Hale (Floor Reporter) on the call.

The team is coming off its strongest defensive performance in its short history as they limited Las Vegas to three goals on 12/16. The three goals were a career-low allowed by goalie Nick Damude and by having stopped 30 of the 33 shots he faced, Damude set a new career-high save percentage (.909). Panther City forced nine turnovers on the evening against Las Vegas, led by assistant captain Matt Hossack, who recorded a team-high three caused turnovers.

Offensively, Will Malcom continues to set the pace for the black and purple as he currently leads the team in goals (5) and points (11). Patrick Dodds sits atop the assist leaderboard for the club with his seven assists through two games. Panther City has been extremely effective on the power play through two games as well – the club has gone 7-12 (58.3%) on the man-up this season.

For the defending champs, they are led by Head Coach Pat Coyle and veterans Eli McLaughlin(team-high five points) and Zed Williams (team-high two goals). Dillon Ward continues his storied career between the cage for the Mammoth and has recorded 32 saves so far in 2022.
