Panther City Loses Season Finale to Calgary

Calgary, AB  (April 20, 2024) – The Panther City Lacrosse Club (9-9) was defeated, 11-9, Saturday night in Calgary by the Roughnecks. Panther City finishes the season with nine wins and for the second consecutive season finishes .500 or better and also advanced to the playoffs for the second straight year.

As they have all season, Callum Crawford and Will Malcom were the leading scorers for Panther City with both finishing with five points with Crawford finishing with one goal and four assists and Malcom recording two goals and three assists. It is the second consecutive season PCLC has had two players record 90+ point seasons, as Malcom finishes 2023-24 with a career high 105 points and Crawford tallying 93 points. Malcom’s 37 goals and 68 assists are also career highs and looks to finish as the 9th highest scoring player in the NLL this season with his 105 points. This is the first time Panther City has had a top-ten-point finisher in the league.

Defenseman Brandon Goodwin continued his hot streak as he recorded two goals and one assists for a three-point evening, in which he set a new career high for single season goals scored with nine. Defenseman Dylan Hutchison also added a transition goal for the visitors from Fort Worth.

Goalie Nick Damude, despite the loss, finished the evening stopping 46 of the 57 shots he faced for an 80.7% save percentage. This is Damude’s 7th game in his last 10 with a save percentage of 80% or better.
