Panther City Powers Past Albany FireWolves

The Panther City Lacrosse Club (9-6) defeated the Albany FireWolves (2-12), 12-8, tonight at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. It was a well-balanced attack from the home club as 16 players registered a point.

Callum Crawford (4A) and Will Malcom (2G/2A)  led the club with four points, while Patrick Dodds and Phil Caputo also recorded two goals on the evening. Transition player Josh Medeiros extended his scoring streak as he has now scored a goal in seven straight games.

Tyler Burton set the tone tonight as he went 15-19 (78.9%) from the face-off dot, while also leading the team with 11 loose balls. He also recorded an assist.

Defensively, goalie Nick Damude shined again between the pipes as he stopped 32 of 40 shots (80%) he faced and for the fifth straight game recorded an assist as he finished with two assists on the evening. Tonight was the sixth game this season Damude has allowed single-digit goals.  Team captain Matt Hossack led the team with two caused turnovers and extended his team lead as he has now recorded 22 caused turnovers for the year.

Panther City next hits the road for two straight weeks, starting next Saturday for the club’s first matchup of the season against Western Conference foe, Calgary Roughnecks. Game is set for a 9 p.m. CT start and can be seen on Bally Sports Southwest and ESPN+.
