PCLC Rides On To Rochester To Face Knighthawks

The Panther City Lacrosse Club (2-2) visits the Rochester Knighthawks (3-0) for the first-ever matchup between the two clubs in their respective histories. The game will mark the first time Panther City has faced an Eastern Conference foe during the 2022-23 NLL season. Craig Rybczynski (PxP), Brendan McDaniels (Analyst) and Suzie Cool (Floor Reporter) will be on the call from Rochester with the game being broadcasted locally in Texas on KTXA21 and streamed everywhere on ESPN+.

Over the course of the past two regular-season weeks, Panther City has seen their young offensive weapons honored, as Jonathan Donville (12/21/22) and Mathieu Gautier (1/4/23) were named NLL Rookie of the Week in consecutive weeks. Donville (14 points – 1 goal/13 assists) and Gautier (8 points – 2 goals/6 assists) currently rank first and second in points and assists respectively, amongst NLL rookies. Panther City’s other young forward Cam Wengreniuk currently leads all rookies in goals scored with three.

Offensively, Panther City is led by lefties Will Malcom (team-high 21 points – 9 goals/12 assists) and Phil Caputo (12 points – 6 goals/6 assists). Prior to the 2022-23 season, Caputo was named as an assistant captain. On the right side, second year forward Patrick Dodds has recorded 13 points on five goals and eight assists.

Goalie Nick Damude continues his strong play so far this season, as he made a career-high 48 saves against Saskatchewan and currently leads the league in saves made (139) and is second in the NLL with his 9.06 goals against average amongst starting goalies.

For Rochester, they are led by Connor Fields (25 points – 12 goals/13 assists), which ranks him first in points and second in goals in the NLL. Goalie Rylan Hartley has helped the team to a 3-0 start and currently has a .800 save percentage and 10.33 GAA.
