Panther City Lacrosse Club Defeat Saskatchewan Rush, 17 – 16 (OT)

The Panther City Lacrosse Club (3-8) defeated the Saskatchewan Rush (3-7), 17 – 16, in overtime at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Saturday night.

Forward Will Malcom scored the game winner in overtime, his fifth goal of the game and his eighth point. His five goals are the most any Panther City player has tallied in a single game this season, and he currently leads the club with 45 points on the season. Rookie Nathan Grenon dished out a game-high six assists and found the back of the net once to give him a season high seven points on the night. Ten different scorers found the back of the net for Panther City, a season high.

Panther City’s Jeremy Thompson and Saskatchewan’s Mike Messenger had a war in the face-off circle, as Thompson won 18 of 29 faceoffs (62%) and claimed a season-high 16 loose balls. Messenger won 14 of his 36 faceoffs (39%) and claimed 15 loose balls. Panther City defensemen Liam Byrnes was also a vacuum, claiming 12 loose balls, tying his season high.

Panther City next heads to Colorado to face the Colorado Mammoth (6-3) on Friday, March 11. Faceoff is set for 8:30 p.m. CT at Ball Arena.
